Gerald Simonds Healthcare set for major growth with new owner

Gerald Simonds Healthcare Ltd (GSH) has announced its acquisition by Borrum
Healthcare Group Ltd. Borrum (origin: a Celtic god of the winds) is headed up by Richard
Boys-Stones and Bob Darke, both highly experienced business leaders with
distinguished track records in finance and retail respectively.

The sale to Borrum was triggered by the retirement from active duties of founder
Gerald Simonds who has led the business since its origin in 1983. Other key figures in
the business, Doug Robinson (MD) and Tony Phillips (FD), remain, as do all other
current personnel.

Aylesbury-based GSH is best known as a highly successful importer and distributor,
principally of high end custom-built manual wheelchairs and wheelchair seating
systems over many years. Borrum will now be bringing its resources to bear on growing
GSH’s existing business by increasing geographical coverage as well as by developing
into new and complementary product areas
