In a new interview with the peopleBassett opened up about what led to his hospitalization, noting that the tension over the public reaction to his “driving license” contributed to his condition.
Joshua says he started feeling seriously ill in the week before he was admitted to the hospital as a result of the nervousness he got from chatting online about his “driver’s licence”.
“I slept 16 to 20 hours a day,” he said, after noting that he was feeling bad “every day.” “I couldn’t even stand for more than 30 seconds.”
Nearly a week after “Driver’s License” was revoked, Bassett’s song “Don’t Lie Snappy” was released – and his condition worsened significantly.
“It literally felt like my heart was failing,” he recalls. “I was like, ‘This is not just a concern. This is bad.'”
“The doctors were like, ‘If you hadn’t checked in in 12 hours, you were going to die in your apartment,'” he said. “It’s strange that I was this is About to take another nap.”
Joshua ended up spending nine days in the hospital, but his problems didn’t end when he left.
“I was more depressed and stressed,” he says. “I had a panic attack every day.”
But it seems to be a better place since then, too. “In the past year, a lot of my biggest fears have come true,” he says. “But in that, I found I would always be just fine, if not better.”
