Meet the team behind Loughborough’s newest care home, Woodthorpe Lodge
A new luxury care home in Loughborough is set to open its doors this month under the expert guidance of experienced care professionals, Tracy Taylor and Preet Hundal.
Ideal Carehomes, the operator behind Woodthorpe Lodge, has appointed Tracy as Registered Care Manager and Preet as General Manager.
The pair will work together to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to Woodthorpe Lodge residents, through tailored care plans and fantastic lifestyle options.
Tracy, Woodthorpe Lodge’s Registered Care Manager has worked for Ideal Carehomes for almost three years, starting with the group as a night care manager and working her way up through the training programmes. With over 27 years’ experience in the care industry, Tracy has been delivering the highest standards of elderly care for almost three decades.
In her new role, Tracy will be responsible for the care provision at Woodthorpe Lodge, ensuring each resident receives person-centered care, tailored to their specific needs. She will also oversee the training of staff to guarantee the highest standards of care are delivered to all residents at all times.
Tracy said: “I’ve worked in the care sector for many years now and the thing I love most about my job is the ability to make a difference and make our residents smile. It’s incredibly rewarding working with people and providing them with the best care possible, to ensure they have a fantastic quality of life in their later years. I’m also passionate about training and development, and empowering my team to progress and develop their own careers in such a rewarding sector.
“When a resident moves in with us, we want them to know that they are still very much part of their local community. This is why our aim at Woodthorpe Lodge is to create an environment where local people and groups will visit us, and we can take our residents out and about to maintain their connections, social life and independence. Preet and I cannot wait to open the doors in September and begin to build a thriving community at Woodthorpe Lodge.”
Preet Hundal, who has over 20-years’ experience in the care sector, joined the Ideal Carehomes team in July. Preet knew from a young age that working in care was the career for her and she began volunteering in a care home in Birmingham at the age of 16. After gaining valuable experience she went on to secure qualifications in health, social care and nursing, and has worked across a range of care settings whilst progressing her career.
Now with 10 years’ of management experience under her belt, Preet takes on the role as General Manager at Woodthorpe Lodge, where she will be responsible for the overall running of the home.
Preet said: “I am incredibly passionate about providing high quality care for the elderly in a caring and comfortable environment. I’ve had the pleasure of caring for many residents over the years and it’s always so lovely to hear their life story and find out about their passions and interests. So many have contributed a great deal to society so I see it as my responsibility to give something back, through providing the quality of life they deserve in their later years.
“Woodthorpe Lodge will be a real home from home, with outstanding person-centered care and fantastic lifestyle choices. I’m really looking forward to welcoming residents into their new home and sharing everything that Woodthorpe Lodge has to offer.”
