Optima Care Partnership agrees £5.4m re-finance package with Barclays

Optima Care Partnership has agreed a £5.4m re-finance package with Barclays providing additional funds to invest in its residential care home portfolio.
Optima Care Partnership delivers supported living and care home services across four locations and seven units in Bristol, Somerset, and Devon. The business provides care to particularly vulnerable individuals alongside specialising in high quality elderly support services and for those with complex care needs.
The funding package will allow further investment in the group’s care homes to improve facilities for its residents as well as funding for its new staff accommodation unit at Paignton, Devon.
Paul Bliss, Managing Director and owner of Optima Care Partnership, said: “The decision to move our existing business to Barclays was not taken lightly, but by having a dedicated management team that will assist us in the continued development of the company was one of our key considerations. Barclays is also well-known in the healthcare sector and this experience and knowledge is a good fit to enable us to work together now and in the future in fulfilling our business growth ambitions.”
Optima Care Partnership was founded in 1985 and is a family led business run and managed by Paul Bliss and his sons Matthew, Oli, Luke and Ed. The Barclays deal was led by relationship directors Keith Herod and Neil Chandler.

Optima Care Partnership provides 171 beds and employs 239 staff across the company.
