The Ukrainian leader hopes to hold the tournament in Mariupol in 2023. Boris Johnson also greeted the Kiev group, underlining “unwavering support for your freedom struggle.”

“Next year Ukraine will host Eurovision for the third time in history. We will do everything possible to run the city of Mariupol,” Zhelensky reiterated on his Telegram channel.

“It is hoped that next year Eurovision will be held in Kiev for free and in Ukraine,” said the President of the Council of Europe.
